CLA urges government to go green
The County Land and Business Association (CLA) has urged the UK government to change its biofuel policy and stop using imported palm oil.

The group wants the government to change its stance and start using renewable gas, which it claims could be a better option for the planet as a whole and the future of the world's rainforests.
"There is a better renewable fuel option than biofuel which not only saves the rainforest but also delivers a cleaner fuel gas. Biogas can be made from municipal and farm wastes using either anaerobic digestion or gasification," commented CLA president William Worsley.
Such fuel sources are cost-effective and burn more efficiently, he went on to explain.
Palm oil's use as a fuel source has long been a topic of discussion in the environmental world. Some believe that its use is better for the environment than traditional fossil fuel, but others point to the rainforest destruction often linked to the growing of the palms.
