Congratulations!'Tree Love' supporter wins rainforest
Cool Earth wants to say a huge thank you to all supporters of their 'Tree Love' campaign. Launched on the run up to Valentine's, the campaign celebrates the International Year of Forests 2011 , which aims to help raise awareness of the vital role the world's forests play in our day to day lives.
Cool Earth's 'Tree Love' winner is Emma Fry!
Emma has won an acre of endangered rainforest sponsored in her name. Her acre is in the Ashaninka region of the Peruvian Amazon. Preventing the destruction of just one acre of rainforest makes a real difference- preventing 260 tonnes of climate
warming carbon dioxide from being emitted, as well as protecting 44 mature rainforest trees, 95 saplings, 6 endangered species of animals, 322 types of plant and 11, 000
species of insect and worm!
February's Tree Hugger of the Month was Jamie McWade from Florida.
'Tree Love' which will run throughout 2011 encourages supporters to
spread the word about trees with photographs by posting up a 'tree love'
snap on the Cool Earth facebook page . Each month, Cool Earth will
announce their favourite Tree Hugger photo and the winner will receive a
sponsored tree in their name- just like Jamie above.
Click here if you want to protect an acre of endangered rainforest in your name or as a gift. Get involved with Cool Earth by posting up your own 'Tree Love' snap on our facebook page or e-mail your pics to info@coolearth.org
