eBay announces rainforest protection plan
Internet auction site eBay has announced it is to launch a new scheme which will see it protecting the rainforest.

As part of its Green Team Challenge, those who use the website to shop will be asked to pledge to reuse and follow green shopping principles.
It will them team up with a number of other private sector firms and other groups to try and protect areas of endangered tropical rainforest.
When heading to the site to shop, customers will be encouraged to follow three steps; one, to always buy secondhand or refurbished items, two, to try and ensure they are buying products made sustainably, and three, to use the internet auction site to buy energy-saving items for their home.
eBay, which was founded 15 years ago, is the world's biggest online auction site and has a customer base of some 233 million. Consumers can buy from eBay in 37 countries.
