Rainforest Bugs create a stir at the Bath Coffee Festival
It's not everyone's cup of tea or coffee even but big rainforest bugs as well as cappacinos and cupcakes made their way onto the stands at the Bath Coffee Festival.
Locust, meal worms, black crickets and hoppers drew curious crowds to the Cool Earth Coffee stall, where festival goers sipped the charity beverage whilst taking part in an, "I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here," style challenge.
Children and adults had to brave the jars of creepy crawlies to grab a sweet and have a rainforest tree sponsored for them by the Cool Earth team.
Lauren Faulkner who works for the charity Cool Earth, found herself grappling escaping bugs with one hand while making cups of Cool Earth Coffee with the other; "Every body really loved our new Cool Earth Coffee and they were fascinated by the bugs too. Each jar protects an endangered tree and it's Rainforest Alliance certified, so the bugs were there to get people thinking about the biodiversity of the forest and how they can save a little piece of it just by drinking Cool Earth Coffee."
Get yourself a jar without having to do the bug challenge
No bug will stand in the way of a sweet if you're under 10 - see for yourself.
Come and see us at the Fal River Festival on Saturday 28th May (2011) grab a bug, save rainforest tree, protect biodiversity and drink Cool Earth Coffee. Save your first tree today
