Rainforest habitat to be built in China
Plans have been revealed for a new rainforest park in Hainan, China, it has been reported.

According to an article on China.org, China's first tropical forest park is to be built in the middle of Hainan Island and it will encompass ten natural reserves and 11 parks.
Representatives from the Hainan Forest Bureau said that the centre of the island is an eco hotspot and boasts the most complicated eco-system on the whole island. The area is home to a wide range of habitats, from mountains and waterfalls, to springs and grass pastures, the source noted.
Hainan Island as a whole has more than 50 per cent forest cover.
"Tourism based on Hainan's ethnic rainforest culture has been on the rise in recent years. Parks showcasing how the people used to live in the rainforest receive about 5,000 tourists a day," the website said.
According to figures published by Monga Bay in 2008, tropical rainforest cover in China had fallen by some 67 per cent in the three decades previously.
