Support Cool Earth at the Alive and Giving Launch
Cool Earth is one of 3 charities to be chosen to help launch the innovative new fundraising website, Alive and Giving. It's a "go compare" style site to help you choose which charity you wish to support.
On the 14th of October 2010, Cool Earth will take part in a 6 minute pitch to tell an audience of potential supporters, why protecting rainforest is in everyone's best interests. While other charities will be promoting their causes, the night of frenzied fundraising is to highlight a new approach to donating through the website aliveandgiving.com .
Cool Earth will be raising funds for endangered rainforest in Borneo where our friends at the Orangutan Foundation run a release camp for rehabilitated organutans. You can join us on the night in person or donate through aliveandgiving.com
The more you give the more likely we are to win an extra £15,000 in top up funding and help give orangutans a second chance at life in the wild through the Lamandau Wildlife reserve.
AliveandGiving.com is the brain child of young entrepreneur, Chester Mojay-Sinclare who wanted to find a solution to donor fatigue by creating a site where all charities large or small are given the same shop window with details of how they spend donations revealed. The concept is to search, compare and donate.
Although still at university, 22 year old Chester has won £50,000 for his idea and has secured the support of a large social networking site.
If you'd like to come along to the launch of Alive and Giving let us know at info@coolearth.org or tell us through our Facebook page.
