On top of the carbon they have locked up in rainforest that would have otherwise have been destroyed, Buyagift.com have also protected some of the world's most valuable bio-diversity and the way of life of the Ashaninka people - one of the oldest tribes in the Peruvian Amazon. With 90% of Buyagift's funding going direct to rainforest communities and conservation, a real difference will be seen on the ground immediately.

By sponsoring 39 acres of rainforest, Buyagift.com is safeguarding around 1716 mature trees, 7410 saplings, 6 endangered species of mammal and over 11,000 species of insect and worm. And as part of Cool Earth's commitment to making the forests worth more standing to the local communities than knocked down, Buyagift.com will also be responsible for providing much needed medical and educational facilities for the Ashaninka Tribe of the Peruvian Amazon.
