Cool Earth Action - Keeping carbon where it belongs

Emily Courtier - Teacher, UK

Emily Courtier smiling in front of Peruvian mountainsMy name is Emily Courtier, I am a secondary school teacher at Sheldon School in Chippenham. I teach students aged between 11 to 18 and my subjects include RE, PSHE and Citizenship. I feel very privileged to have taken part in the Cool Earth teacher fellowship to the Ashaninka in Peru. The trip allowed me to experience the day to day lives of the Ashaninka tribe and how Cool Earth is working in partnership to secure their survival in the Amazon. The Ashaninka tribe are a truly inspirational community and the protection of their environment and way of life is vital; the work of Cool Earth is very important in ensuring this.
