Fundraising
Make Cool Earth your school's charity of the
year and help tackle climate change.
Bring your school together to help communities and protect the rainforest. Fundraising in school is a great way to get classmates working with each other towards something positive.
Ways to support Cool Earth
There are many ways in which your school can support Cool Earth and we would be delighted if you made us your charity of the year. Perhaps you could raise funds to protect an area of rainforest the size of your class, school hall, football pitch or even your school. Your plot of rainforest will be sponsored in your name where you can view it in your Cool Earth account. Or you might like to raise money to fund resources for schools in the rainforest.

Here are just a few fundraising ideas to help get you started...
Cool Schools
Remember... if your school is part of the Cool School initiative you
could ask your local business to sponsor your class or school in your
fundraising efforts or even get them involved. If you'd like to team up with
your Cool School business to fundraise we'd love to hear from you and discuss
ideas. Contact us at coolschool@coolearth.org.
Sporting Events
Students and teachers could make a donation to take part in sports challenges like a tennis tournament, five a side football or a school sports day. You could even have a Wii sports tournament. All you need is a console and a TV screen and you could slug it out with your most competitive class mates and colleagues in the canteen or the classroom.
Or you could even put together your own school running or football team and get sponsored to compete against other local schools, getting the whole community involved.
Classroom Fun
Students and teachers could pay for the privilege of having a dress down
day, or a green dress day.
You could flex your creative skills and put on a play, concert or art show for students and parents.
Why not give your students the chance to protect an acre or half an acre of rainforest in their name, by participating in fundraising competitions.
Use our rainforest resources to teach your students about biodiversity and then test their knowledge with a rainforest quiz.
You could have a baby photo competition. Guess who your classmates are and get to know each other that little bit better. Or you could ask students to make their best rainforest plant or draw an imaginary rainforest animal and decorate the classroom. Classes could even compete against each other and we'll give the winning class some rainforest to protect.
All you need to do is send us the details of your competition, school
and the money raised and we'll send the winner a certificate which they can put up
in their class or at home. We will even map their plot on Google Earth for
them.
Whatever you decide to do, we can help you organise your fundraising events and we'll promote all your school's efforts on our website and in our magazine.
We would be delighted to talk to your students about the important work
we do and how their efforts will make a difference to climate change. In fact,
if your school raises over £500 we'll come in and do an Ashaninka show and
tell, giving your students the opportunity to see and learn about rare
artefacts from the tribe.
Whatever you decide to do we'll be there to support you.
