your employees. Here is an example of how our partners have used employee
incentives.
The
Co-operative bank set its staff an ethical challenge in conjunction with Cool
Earth. Every time they encouraged a customer to open a Think Credit Card the
Co-operative saved an acre of South American rainforest from the chainsaw.
What's more their customers knew that every time they spent a hundred pounds
using the Think Credit Card, 25 pence would go to Cool Earth. The Co-operative
Bank created a green chain from employer to employee to customer to the
rainforest saving 1,700 acres in the process.

This is a
great way to encourage your staff to reach their fundraising targets. You match
what they raise, setting a positive example and boosting the end total to
really make a difference to how much rainforest you can protect.
Payroll

Payroll
Giving allows employees to give to a charity directly through their salary. The
donation is deducted from their pay before tax is deducted. This means that
employees are given tax relief on their donation immediately. For example a
donation of £10 would only cost an employee £8 if they pay tax at the basic
rate.
Offering
this form of giving sends out positive signals to employees about the company
they work for. It shows social responsibility is integral to a company's
outlook and that staff involvement is important to the success of this.
