Protecting rainforests with Cool Earth Action - Keeping carbon where it belongs

TalkTalk Connects Customers with Cool Earth

TalkTalk is connecting its customers with the rainforest charity Cool Earth. The service provider is giving a donation to Cool Earth every time one of their customers returns their old router for recycling.

Talk Talk logo"Here at TalkTalk, we wanted to incentivise our four million customers to return more end-of-life routers to us for recycling. We introduced a donation on their behalf for every one received, and the response has been fantastic. We couldn't find a better way to protect our delicate environment than to financially support the great work that Cool Earth does. We admire their direct efforts with locals to protect endangered forests, and in educating the rest of us of the opportunities and not just the problems that climate change presents. We would encourage more organisations to support Cool Earth."

TalkTalk customers are already saving vast tracts of endangered rainforest in the Peruvian Amazon. As Cool Earth's director Matthew Owen explains, this is one of the most effective ways of saving CO2.

"TalkTalk really get it. The biggest environmental impact you can make is halting rainforest destruction. So by working with Cool Earth, TalkTalk and their customers are making a real difference to saving species, tackling climate change and supporting forest communities that keep trees standing. Every recycled router makes an immediate difference on the ground and Cool Earth are delighted with their support."
