The Capirona is a rainforest giant & often emerges above the canopy. It's a hard wood and sought after by loggers for its durable timber. Local communities use its bark as a herbal remedy for skin problems. It’s even used as a treatment against diabetes and malaria. This tree sheds its bark annually, proving to be a good sustainable resource.
