Ashaninka Rainforest

Our Ashaninka project is a partnership with three indigenous communities in the Ené Valley, one of Peru’s deforestation hotpots. The Ashaninka have lived in the forest for thousands of years and their way of life depends entirely upon the forest.
Sponsoring Ashaninka Rainforest funds the protection of their rainforest and community investments to improve the lives of our rainforest partners.

When you sponsor an area of Ashaninka rainforest, the location of your sponsored rainforest is plotted on a Google Map that can be viewed in your Cool Earth Account. Rainforest can either be protected in your own name or as a gift with personalised certificates of sponsorship being sent by post or email.

Saving Ashaninka rainforest empowers our 2,151 Ashaninka partners to defend their forest from loggers. Sponsoring half an acre prevents the emission of 130 tonnes of CO2 and protects 22 mature trees, 95 saplings, 6 endangered animals, 322 types of plant and 11,000 species of insect and worm.
