The Andean Walnut tree produces edible nuts in hard husks. The walnuts have been known to have aphrodisiac qualities containing an amino acid which improves the blood supply. As well as having a high energetic value the sap from the walnut shell is also a strong dye. Walnut wood is extremely durable and so highly prized for veneers.
