One of the best ways to spread the word of all your adventuring stupidity and build up some fundraising momentum is through social media. It’s important to get all of your social media pages up and running nice and early, months before your adventure begins. Then you’ll have plenty of time to show off your attempts to build a roof rack out of a couple of tent poles and a coat hanger.
Your social platforms are also a great channel to boast about fundraising. You can link people directly to your fundraising page, making it as easy as possible for them to donate. You should set up Facebook and Twitter pages without a second thought but blogs are also worth considering. They’ll let you share all your tales of mischeif and are easier to update than a full blown website. Here are a few good blogging sites we can whole heartily recommend:
The most important thing to remember with all your social pages is to keep them updated. Your supporters will feel far more engaged in your journey if they can follow pictures of you being chased out of a small Mongolian town by angry locals after throwing up half a goats testicle onto your hosts foot.
Finally don’t forget to follow all your fellow teams and join the official Adventurist Facebook groups.
Onwards, save the world, we salute you,
