In April, Liam, Andrea and Kay will be taking part in the Rickshaw Run - driving 2,800 km from the north to south of India in 14 days in a rickshaw with a top speed of around 40km an hour! During our travels, we are fundraising for Cool Earth. Cool Earth is a UK-based international NGO that protects endangered rainforest in order to combat global warming, protect ecosystems and to provide employment for local people. Specifically we are fundraising for the Askaninka Project — aimed at empowering the indigenous rainforest people of Peru to help protect acres of the Amazon Rainforest from illegal deforestation. With the Amazon making up nearly 50% of the planets rainforests, and if the weather in Sydney is any indication, this is an important cause for the future. Less than 10% of Cool Earth's supporter income is spent on administration so rest assured that majority of funds raised will be going to a good cause.
Empowering the Asháninka to shield millions of acres of Amazon rainforest.
