As a young child, the Rainforest was always a place of wonder and there always seemed something mysterious and magical about it, I remember it being the focus of many daydreams & drawing during my youth and since then it has always been my dream to visit the Amazon rainforest, but it seems I need to be quick. The lungs of our world are disappearing at an alarming rate and the oxygen it creates is depleted daily. But we firmly believe that together, we can make a difference, this is why we have decided to walk the Inca Trail for Cool Earth, these guys are trying to help the planet where it needs it most, and we want to do our bit. Please support us, we're in training to complete the 4 day trek at high altitude, and all travel, accommodation, etc we're paying for ourselves so any amount that you sponsor us by will go straight to charity.
About 5 years ago I visited Peru for the 1st time. Back then, I'd never have imagined how much it would change my life and my outlook. I feel in love with the country, its people and my wife.

This enormous eco structure is under threat. You are probably aware of the de-forestation that has been occuring, but are you aware that it still is? The lungs of our world are disappearing at an alarming rate and the oxygen that it creates is depleting daily.

To some, this might sound like a dream holiday, and, well, yes it is going to be spectacular, but it's also going to be extremely arduous. For the next seven or so months, we'll be in training to put our bodies through its paces so that we're ready to take on high altitude trekking.
Our - Mankinds - Greenhouse Effect is starting to run away from us, Carbon Emissions are rising daily, with less greenlife there is less Oxygen entering the atmosphere, Oil pipes, cattle ranching, gold mining, farming and logging are destroying and polluting one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, one that needs to stay unspoiled if we as a species want to truly flourish here on Earth, and what even gives us the right to destroy it when we share home with trillions of other life forms ranging countless species. What gives us the right to be judge, jury and executioner to these poor creatures who share the planet with us?
We need to work together, and we all need to do our bit, if we all helped a little bit on little projects like this, we really could help save the planet. - Tom & Nina
