Take a dugout canoe made from a mango tree, add a bamboo mast, a sail and a couple of outriggers and you have the Ngalawa - the ultimate sailing machine. We are Jorge, Alberto and Alba and we have nine days to finish a 'merciless, tough race in an idyllic setting', navigating in a Ngalawa between the islands and reefs by any route we choose, sleeping wherever we make landfall and eating whatever supplies not yet claimed by the waves. Why? For charity of course! We'll raising money for the excellent work done by Cool Earth, a organisation that works alongside indigenous villages to halt rainforest destruction. Any donations you are able to provide will be greatly appreciated!
