3,500km from north to south of the Indian sub-continent in a motorised rickshaw... with an engine the size of a lawnmower. And no support. We're on our own - just us, a little bit of mechanical knowledge, and the goodwill of the people we meet on the way. We believe adventures in life are necessary but not a right. So we want to do some good at the same time by raising money for Cool Earth, the charity that is saving rainforests all over the globe. Cool Earth works in partnership with indigenous communities to achieve long-term protection for rainforest under imminent threat of destruction. In their words: “The only way to halt destruction is to align the future of the rainforest with the people best placed to protect it. This means placing forest in the hands of the people who rely on its survival for their survival. Cool Earth does just that.” Our fundraising adventure starts on New Year’s Day 2018 in Jaisalmer near India’s high desert border with Pakistan. With luck it will end two weeks later in the southern city of Cochin. What happens in between is anyone’s guess, but we expect a few breakdowns and some amazing experiences. There’s no fixed route. No hotel bookings. Just a destination and a few thousand kilometres of bumpy road. And a target: we want to raise at least £2,000. Please, will you help us?
