In January 2018 I will be going on a foolhardy adventure with my idiot friend, Thomas Harper. We will join dozens of other reckless fools in racing across Morocco on Monkey Bikes, tiny 48cc hairdyrers on wheels. At the moment, all we know is the start line is near Marrakech, the finish line is somewhere on the coast, and to get there we will cross the desert and somehow get over the Atlas mountains. In short, it is a difficult journey on a rubbish vehicle. Assuming we don't break down in the desert, crash in the mountains or get kidnapped by Bedouin, the whole adventure should take 7 days. Breakdowns of both the mechanical and emotional variety are expected. Oh, and I don't even know how to drive a car. Why am I doing this again...? I am hoping to raise £1,000 for Cool Earth, the extraordinary rainforest preservation charity. Cool Earth work to protect endangered rainforests around the world, campaign to combat global warming and help to provide employment for local people. They do incredible work and I would really love to reach, or surpass this ambitious total. Please dontate generously, as it will really help when we're sunburnt, grumpy and lost in the desert, to know that this has all been for a good cause.
