Two Englishmen and a Ukranian walk into a bar... And so it began! A vague plan to travel across India using a 7hp glorified lawnmower, with no route and absolutely no clue how we're going to make it home... _____________________________________________________________________________ In January 2018 we will be plotting to tackle the behemoth trek that is the 3,500km between Jaisalmer and Cochin, along the wild-west coast of India. We'll be accompanied by none other than our trusty Rickshaw - widely regarded as being the pinnacle of engineering. _____________________________________________________________________________ "Let's be honest, if God made machines, he probably wouldn't have bothered with a Rickshaw. But as with so many other things, he would have been wrong... They're not very fast, they smell, they fall over when you go round corners, they break down more often than an emo teenager and a days driving feels like you've been kicked up the arse by an elephant. But somehow, all of this makes them better. And so they are, unquestionably, the greatest vehicle on the planet." _____________________________________________________________________________ Our mammoth journey is going to consist of navigating endless potholes, avoiding huge buses, lorries, a plethora of animals, small children and whole families on mopeds. We're going to be lodging in the dingiest of hotels and dining with Delhi belly on the cards with every mouthful. _____________________________________________________________________________ WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY? _____________________________________________________________________________ In the last 40 years alone, half of the world's rain forest has been destroyed and contrary to headlines, it continues to be lost at an increasing rate than ever... There needs to be a worldwide effort to turn this devastation around. _____________________________________________________________________________ We'd love to be able to raise £1,000 to support the Cool Earth charity. This fantastic UK based charity has been working tirelessly alongside indigenous villages to protect the rain forest in Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and throughout Oceania. In recent years they have saved hundreds of thousands of acres of rain forest around the world. They have achieved all of this by putting the people who care most about the beautiful rain forest, back in charge! _____________________________________________________________________________ It would be great to know that all of the inevitable difficulties we face on the road are all for a great cause - saving our home. If you've got some money to spare, please chuck some £ this way - every little bit helps.
