Rickshaw Run – April 2018

Fundraising Goal

100% of Goal

Hi! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. For the those of you that we haven’t yet bored to tears of our upcoming adventure, the incredibly courageous team consisting of Scott Curtis, Richard Clark, Dave White & Jenny Curnow are taking part in something called the Rickshaw Run in April. Basically, we’re travelling from Cochin, in the southern Indian state of Kerala, to Jaisalmer, in northern Rajasthan, also India, which is situated near the border of Pakistan. However, the catch is that we’ll be spanning the length of India in a motorised rickshaw which is one wheel more than a standard wheelie bin. The thing simply isn’t built to travel the terrain and distance that we’re planning as you will note from the video link below. There is no set route, no back-up, no way of knowing if we're going to make it. The only certainty is that we will get lost, stuck and break down in a wholly unsuitable vehicle whilst traversing the subcontinent in the height of summer but we will help to save a little bit of the world whilst doing it. We’d all be extremely grateful if you can give as much or as little as you can to help us reach our goal of raising £1,000 for Cool Earth. Cool Earth is a non-profit organisation that works alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation and climate change. Please take the time to read a little about what they do, it is simple stuff yet extremely effective. Finally, you can follow us on our adventure using the following link - https://blogging.theadventurists.com/map/rickshawrun2018b/team/austin-chilli-1. You’ll be able to follow our exact location, trials and numerous mechanical tribulations here if you’re interested. Thanks again for your time and your support!! Scott, Rich, Dave and Jen. x
