The Monkey Run Peru - Charlie Eyre and I are undertaking an epic 1200km journey from Ayacucho to Atalaya climbing 4500 metres up and over the Andes mountain range and crashing through 100's of kilometers of the Amazon rain forest. All of this is done on an entirely useless impractical Monkey Bike. The Monkey Bike is diminutive bundle of joy what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in unadulterated pleasure. It's close to the ground, so you don't have far to fall. It's about the size of a rollerskate, so will fit through tiny gaps in traffic. It's incredibly light, so when it inevitably breaks down it's easy to carry. It's mechanically basic so a chimp could fix it. Engine: 48cc of 4 stroke genius Power: 2.6 BHP Weight: 75kg Brakes: Disc front, drum rear *All Money raised goes to charity, the cost of this trip is paid BY ME*
Cool Earth is the non-profit organisation that works alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation and its impact on change. In the last 40 years half the world’s rain forests have been destroyed and we aim to reverse that.
