Kicking things off in London, we face a mad 1200km dash to Prague for the opening ceremony. From there we make our way through Hungary to Romania where we’ll tackle the greatest road in the world, the Transfăgărășan (please don’t ask me to pronounce it). The large expanse of Turkey follows Georgia and Azerbaijan on our way to the historic mystique of the Islamic Republic of Iran. A sharp left and we’ll head north into the time capsule of Turkmenistan and the famous doorway to hell. A few more Stan’s as we travel through Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan while skirting the border of Kyrgyzstan before a brief foray into Russia while we circumvent the imposing Tian Shan mountain range. Next is the daunting prospect of the seemingly endless Mongolian Steppe. Should we manage to negotiate all these obstacles we should re-enter Russia on our way to the finish line in Siberian Ulan-Ude. Simples
