We are team Pavlova Rova. Three young lads from the land of the long white cloud who are one of the few New Zealand teams competing in the rally of a lifetime, otherwise known as the Mongol Rally. This is an intrepid journey not for the faint hearted, involving 10,000 miles of blood boiling, adrenaline fuelled pure fucking adventure. From the launch pad in Prague, we well charge through South-east Europe, to the road less travelled through the Middle East, across vast expanses of desert to the mountains of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, up through northern China and Mongolia to Ulan Ude, Russia.

Conditions for taking part in the rally include operating a vehicle of less than 1.2 litres with no help from the organisation throughout the whole voyage. We are also required to raise at least £1000 ($2000 NZD) for charity, however we are hoping to raise much more than that! Half of the funds raised will be donated to the Mongol Rally charity of choice, Cool Earth. This is a non-profit organisation which works alongside rainforest communities to fight against deforestation and the impact it has on climate change click here to learn more. The other half of the charity will be donated to a charity of our choice. As a team we have decided to work alongside the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand to support people in all parts of society suffering from mental illnesses. We have set up a Givealittle page for any of you who would like to contribute to this cause. https://givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/the-pavlove-rova-mongol-rally-team-2019.
With these complicated instructions we are rather confident that we will be able to source a Mad Max lookalike vehicle in Czech Republic, and as for the charity, the Pavlova Rova team believe we can raise much more than the $2000 required from the beautiful people of New Zealand and else where in the world.
