Veronica and friends help save the rainforest with Cool Earth

Fundraising Goal

100% of Goal

For my 28th birthday, I have decided to do something a bit crazy - go on a monkey bike (mini motorcycle) adventure race across Romania. Now, if that isn't wild enough, let me clue you in on the fact that I am deathly afraid of motorcycles. The Monkey Run is all about getting lost, causing chaos, dodging bears and saving the world all at the same time... And, speaking of saving the world, I am thrilled to be fundraising for Cool Earth. In excitement for the Monkey Run and in lieu of gifts for my 28th birthday, I would like to invite you all by joining my adventure and raising funds to save the rainforest. Thank you for helping support their work!

Local people stand to lose the most from deforestation but the most to gain from its protection, that’s why they are the forest’s best possible custodians. All Cool Earth partnerships are community-owned and led.

By developing local livelihoods, their mission is to end the cycle of deforestation entrenching villages into further poverty. Creating strong, self-determining communities.

They are also the only charity that works solely where the threat to the forest is greatest, on the frontline of deforestation. They work strategically, each of their partnerships form a shield to make the neighboring forest inaccessible to loggers – saving millions of acres of further forest.

Not only that but 90% of your donation goes straight to the rainforest and their indigenous partners. So whilst I am zooming around on a tiny bike, you know that my risk-taking tendencies and fundraising efforts are helping keep rainforest standing.

Here are some examples of what your money can do!

£500 protects over 8 acres of endangered rainforest from the threats of logging and destruction. This is roughly 2,000 trees!

£1000 enables a village to build, stock and maintain a sustainable fish pond. This will provide protein for the village and reduce the impact that people have on the rainforest. Your donations make a huge difference!

Do you want to have the inside scope on my Romania adventure? Drop your information and follow my shenanigan:

What these diminutive bundles of joy lack in size, they more than makeup for in unadulterated pleasure. It’s just you, and a tiny, unreliable rolling turd getting stuck in some of the most remote places in the world.

Our planet used to slap us about the face-cheeks with iron fists of adventure every day. Maps had edges to walk off. Men feared the monsters that swam the seas. Entire civilizations lay unknown.

But now, the entire surface of the Earth has been scanned by satellites, shovelled into your mobile phone and tagged with twattery about which restaurant serves the best mocha-latte-frappeshite.

Getting lost and in trouble is no longer an occupational hazard of walking to the market. It is an art-form. One we strive to perfect.
We live to find ways to make the world a bit more difficult. To bring chaos into our over-sanitized lives. To create adventures where you don't know what will happen tomorrow or if you'll even make it to the end.
Why though? Well, because we think there's no greater moment than those fateful few seconds before you leap into an abyss of uncertainty and disaster.

We’re The Adventurists. Come, join the fight.

To date, we’re proud to announce that The Adventurists have raised over £7.5million for charity.
