Welcome! Do you like adventures? Do you want to support a non-profit organization that works alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation and its impact on climate change? Then listen up! What is this new adventure? I decided to cross the European border this year and signed up for the adventurist rickshaw run in Himalaya. What is it? Well… How to explain!? Do you see what a rickshaw is? Yes? Good! So, imagine 2 people crossing the Himalayan remote valleys and seasonal passes between Leh and Shimla in the Indian Kashmir on it. You see? So, you got what our new adventure is! We’re expecting to take the 'roads' opened from June to September, when not blocked by snow, landslides, animals or accident wreckage. Our highest point will the Tanglang La pass at 5,328 meters. And we will obviously be totally on our own! Does it seem smarter than my usual mountain climbing? Ahahah who knows! Now, not only is the Rickshaw Run an incredible dose of adventure, it’s also about making a little difference in our World. Therefore, all teams are asked to raise as much funds as possible for Cool Earth, a non-profit organization working to halt rainforest destruction basically by developing local livelihoods to create strong, self-determining communities. Well, we know that it doesn't make much sense to raise funds to help protect the environment and fly to the other side of the world to experience this adventure! We are not going to lie to each other, it is for sure that if we want to pollute less, we do not take the plane. Unfortunately, we don't have time to go to India without taking a plane this year! That's why we also chose to make ourselves a donation to cool earth to "compensate " our carbon footprint. And even if compensating for the carbon footprint of our trip will not cancel the pollution that remains in the atmosphere, it will always be better than doing nothing at all! Yes, it's a matter of debate... but hey! Thanks is advance!!!
