Welcome! We're doing a bat-shit crazy boat race for 9 days down the Zanzibar Archipelago in a dugout mango tree as our vessel and a bed sheet as our sail, and we could really use your help.... Because it's simply too selfish to throw our ill-prepared selves into the Indian Ocean without a better reason than "for the hell of it," we're doing our part to raise money for Cool Earth, which works with indigenous villages around the world to help stop rainforest destruction. We hope you can help!
Some of you may already know that we (Chad, Jake, and Jeff) have been taking frequent trips to San Diego's Mission Bay Aquatic Center to learn how to sail. Why? Welp, for a sneak peek... SEE THE VIDEO BELOW.
The truth is, we're trying to win a sailing race we have no right winning, but blindly believe we can. Ignorance is bliss, yeah?
On top of this insane adventure, we're also trying to raise money for Cool Earth, which works with indigenous villages around the world to help stop rainforest destruction.
Our goal is a measly 500 pounds (750 USD), but would love to surpass that goal if we can. Any little bit you can give to help preserve the world's rainforest regions (as well as help us remember that the race is bigger than we are, when on day 6, we're beat up, half-sunk, and broken spirited).
Beyond saving the rainforest, we're going to start a new fund in the near future to help students cross cultures with adventures of their own. We truly believe that travel is the key to ending narrow-mindedness and promoting acceptance and peace around the world. For more information on that when it comes available, make sure to enter your email at the new stampabout.com (currently 90% complete).
Thanks for your support and wish us luck! (God knows we'll need it....)
