This May I will run 40 miles to celebrate my 40th birthday and to raise funds for Cool Earth who do fantastic work protecting rainforests and empowering indigenous people! The goal is - apart from completing a 40 mile run! – to raise £ 2400 to support 40 acres of rainforest. Donate to my campaign and be an active part in fighting deforestation across the globe!
It is a pivotal year! I am concluding my 30s and entre a whole new exciting decade of life. To celebrate this I decided to go on a Quest. On The Quest! A 40 mile coastal path Ultramarathon on the north coast of Cornwall (http://mudcrew.co.uk/event/the-quest/)
Now, this is going to be my first ultra! Quite a challenge but I enjoy running and completing 40 miles to celebrate each year of my life seemed like a fun idea (of sorts!).
However, every good quest needs a purpose. I am a passionate conservationist and my love for nature and my dedication for environmental sustainability has been the driving force in all my life. So, I am not running 40 miles just for the personal achievement but to raise awareness and funds for Cool Earth. In 2015 Cool Earth was named Charity of the Year and Best International NGO. Their work is having a huge impact on the lives of marginalised communities as well as on each and every one of us. The effects of climate change grow more challenging day by day and in order to fight back protecting large areas of connected, intact rainforest may just be the only real solution we have.
Cool Earth guarantees that less than 10% of all donations go towards administrative costs, so your money directly supports the projects on the ground.
Please sponsor my campaign – any amount is greatly appreciated – and spread the word.
