Adventuring 3,500 km across India in an Auto-Rickshaw raising funds for Cool Earth!
Who we are:
We are three friends who met in Thailand. Benjamin, Christian & Tanny.
What we're doing:
The Rickshaw Run is a two week, 3,500km pan-Indian adventure in a 7 horsepower glorified lawnmower organized by a British Company, The Adventurists. The Adventurists “aim to save the world through adventure” by organizing nearly impossible challenges. To date, Adventurist fundraisers have raised over £5,500,000 for charity.
The Rickshaw Run route begins in Jaisalmer on 04-April, 2016 in Western India, and ends in Shillong in Eastern India. In this race, there is a start line and a finish line. Everything in between is up to us. We have a crude, impractical route planned – but these things hardly ever go as planned. As if more incentive is needed, competing teams raise a minimum of $1600 dollars for a charity of our choice.
100% of the money raised will be going directly to our chosen charity, Cool Earth. 0% of these donated funds will go toward covering our costs on the adventure.
Why we’re doing it:
Half of the world’s rainforest has been destroyed in the last 40 years. And, contrary to the headlines, rainforest continues to be lost at a faster rate than ever. We love the rainforest, and want to save the world!
Our chosen charity, Cool Earth, works toward saving at-risk rainforests and shielding millions of acres of neighboring forest. They put local people back in control, giving them the resources they need to keep their forest intact.
$100 protects an acre of rainforest!
