In 2008 Explore Worldwide became the first major travel company to offset its carbon emissions from air travel. For every flight taken by a customer or staff member, Explore makes a donation to Cool Earth.
The funds support indigenous communities to protect their rainforest, and to date the partnership has locked in over 100,000 tonnes CO2 , far exceeding Explore’s emissions
"Explore are extremely proud to support Cool Earth in their worthy quest to save the rainforest. Working with local communities to achieve positive results is a fundamental ethos of Explore, so a partnership with Cool Earth is an obvious and exciting choice. We believe in empowerment through education and recognise that without community engagement we will lose more and more of our precious rainforest."

Explore Worldwide is partnering with 16 Asháninka villages to save 688 acres of rainforest in Peru.
The Asháninka are Peru’s largest indigenous nation and until now have lived deep in the heart of the amazon rainforest. Today, the deforestation frontline has arrived on their doorstep. Our Asháninka Partnership is in the Ene Valley, one of the world’s most at-risk areas. Illegal logging and the cocaine trade are destroying the forest. With the support of Explore Worldwide, Cool Earth is linking villages together to shield millions of acres of neighbouring forest.
