Phoebe Sherwood is branching out from her usual woodland-themed jewellery and is giving illustration a go. And for her first venture into card design, she has decided to support forest further afield.
By selling Christmas cards through her website in the lead up to the end of the year, she is donating 20% of the profits to Cool Earth. We spoke with Phoebe about her motivation to make a difference through her art and why she decided to support Cool Earth in doing so.

What was your motivation for fundraising with your art?
Being able to do something I love which makes people smile while also donating and bringing awareness to a very important cause.
Why Cool Earth?
Because the destruction of the rainforest is happening at such an alarming rate once the ecosystems have been destroyed and more species have been made extinct we can’t get them back. I find it really positive that Cool Earth are doing so much to make a difference, not just by halting deforestation but also through supporting the communities that rely on the rainforest for their livelihoods.
How easy is it to get donations and people to support?
I’m only at the start of this business venture but I’m hoping once the cards go on sale it will be a success.
So far the fundraising process has been much easier than I expected and Cool Earth have been really helpful.
Any top tips for other people thinking of using their skills to fundraise?
There’s no time like the present especially when it comes to saving the rainforest and helping to reverse climate change before it’s too late. Even if you’re just starting out, you don’t have to wait until your business has grown to help in some way… why not start as you mean to go on by building a business model that factors in supporting a cause that matters to you?
