Cool Earth is looking for an analytical, organised, inquisitive, collaborative and motivated individual, experienced in monitoring and evaluating development and/or conservation projects.
This role will support Cool Earth in the implementation of impact evaluation and learning across a number of international partnerships, programmes and projects for a 12 to 18 month period while our Forest Impact Manager is on maternity leave. Working closely with the Programmes team and the Geospatial Data Analyst, you will drive the coordination of evaluating;
- the effectiveness of activities and strategies being used in our partnerships to reduce deforestation and degradation;
- the effectiveness of other rainforest conservation initiatives; and
- the lessons that Cool Earth can learn from over a decade of implementing partnerships with people who live in the rainforest.
You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of processes, approaches, tools and methodologies that facilitate M&E, and organisational learning, that is up to date with best practices in the sector.
You will have an in-depth understanding of the realities of NGO programme management and limitations of impact programme monitoring, evaluation and learning. An understanding of the remote, rural, dynamic and community based nature of our work would put you at a distinct advantage.
An important part of this role is being able to communicate findings to the Fundraising teams, whilst also building excellent relationships across the whole team.
This is a temporary role for 12 to 18 months of Maternity cover with potential for a longer term position depending on needs as the organisation grows. The role is based at Cool Earth Headquarters in Penryn, Cornwall.
