Brother International are partnering with 16 Asháninka villages to save over 4,500 acres of rainforest in Peru.
The Asháninka are Peru’s largest indigenous nation and until now have lived deep in the heart of the amazon rainforest. Today, the deforestation frontline has arrived on their doorstep. Our Asháninka Partnership is in the Ene Valley, one of the world’s most at-risk areas. Illegal logging and the cocaine trade are destroying the forest. With the support of Brother International, Cool Earth is linking villages together to shield millions of acres of neighbouring forest.
Brother International is partnering with Cool Earth to save rainforest from palm oil destruction in Papua New Guinea.
Working with three villages in Milne Bay Province, Brother International is so far keeping almost 2,000 acres of highly vulnerable rainforest standing. By blocking the advance of the palm frontier from the east, Cool Earth’s Orangerie Bay Project is shielding the pristine rainforest behind.
