We’re delighted you’ve chosen to join #TeamCoolEarth and raise money to help rainforest communities grow sustainable incomes to fight deforestation, protect carbon-rich rainforest and preserve our planet now and for the future.⁠

By registering, you’re agreeing to us contacting you for the following purposes:

• We’ll email you to share event day information, fundraising advice and training tips, plus information to help you to your fundraising target for this activity.
• From time to time, we might also call you to share important event information and to make sure you have everything you need for your event.
• We’ll use your postal address to send you a free t-shirt and any relevant event materials.

Terms and Conditions

1. Before registering for this event, you should be fit to participate. If you are unsure about this in any way, you should seek medical advice. You should inform Cool Earth and the event organisers of any pre-existing medical conditions, as well as any that arise after registration, that may affect your participation.
2. You understand that you are taking part in the Virtual London Marathon on Sunday 3 October 2021 and will complete the 26.2 mile distance within 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.
3. You must be a minimum of 18 years of age on race day to participate in this event.
4. If accepted to run for Cool Earth you will be asked to pay a registration fee of £28, or £38 for international participants. The registration fee is non-refundable and must be paid within 7 days of receiving the email request to pay. If you have not paid within 7 days, we will assume you no longer want a 2021 Marathon place with Cool Earth and your application may not be taken any further.
5. You acknowledge this is a fundraising event and pledge to raise the minimum sponsorship promise of £500, excluding Gift Aid or employer match giving.  
6. Your place can only be used to fundraise for Cool Earth and by accepting a charity place you understand that Cool Earth has the right to withdraw your place at any time, if they consider that you are not actively fundraising and committed to raising the pledged sponsorship.
7. Should you need to withdraw for any reason, you acknowledge that you will contact Cool Earth immediately by emailing [email protected]. Please do this before the registration deadline if possible so that your place can be reallocated. Any money raised will be retained as a donation towards Cool Earth. If you wish to refund your donors, you must ask your individual donors to make a written request to Cool Earth, as they will be refunded directly.
8. You understand that places can not be deferred.
9. The money raised through the event is unrestricted and will be used by Cool Earth in the best way to ensure that rainforest communities can invest in protecting their forest.
10. All monies raised in aid of Cool Earth must be received by 31 October 2021.
11. Cool Earth will pass your name and email address to their event partner, London Marathon Events Limited, solely for the purpose of completing my registration and securing my place on the event.
12. If the Virtual London Marathon is cancelled for any reason, either by London Marathon Events or on the advice or instruction of the Government, then Cool Earth will adopt and follow the advice that will be subsequently given by the London Marathon, keeping our runners informed and updated at each stage of the proceedings.
13. You acknowledge that you must only use lawful means to fundraise for the charity and must not do anything which harms, or is likely to harm the charity’s reputation.
14. You acknowledge that you will be contacted by email, phone and post in relation to the Virgin Money London Marathon 2021 to ensure Cool Earth can deliver the necessary administration and communication required to complete your successful participation in the event.
15. The information you provide will be treated confidentially and consent to your personal information will be used in the capacity and purposes stated above. 16. You acknowledge that by running the Virgin Money Virtual London Marathon 2021 for Cool Earth, you consent to the charity using photographs and video footage of you from training days and race day in their promotional materials for publicising future events and the work of the charity, examples include our website and social media.
