When Gadaisu village in Papua New Guinea contacted Cool Earth, they were desperate to save their forest.
Palm Oil companies were on their doorstep. They faced an agonising decision: Sell their land, or continue to live in extreme poverty.
Thanks to you, we were able to give them another choice.
One year on, 113,000 acres of rainforest are safe and sound.
And because of you, Gadaisu village has a future.

What is Cool Earth and how did it save this village and the forest?
Hi Beverly, Cool Earth is a UK based charity that works alongside indigenous villages. We give funds to community associations for them to invest in sustainable livelihoods and other priorities like health and education. In return, they agree to keep their forest intact. So often, for remote rainforest villages living well below the poverty line, the choice is between selling trees or feeding families. Cool Earth is providing another choice. You can read more on the What We Do sections of this site. Thank you.
Excellent video and exciting and excellent news! Cool Earth is doing great work.
£6 donated, will be making this a weekly thing… keep up your good work!
Thanks Aidan!
