Policy and Advocacy
Our Mission
We’re taking the fight to stop deforestation to the highest level, pushing governments, global institutions and businesses to make decisions that actually help forests and the people who live in them.
NGO Forest Coalition
We’re proud to be a member of the NGO Forest Coalition, a network of UK organisations advocating for forests and the people who depend on them. Through this coalition, we collaborate with other NGOs to amplify the voices of rainforest communities and push for systemic change at national and international levels.
Cash For Conservation Coalition
We’re also a co-founder of the Cash for Conservation Coalition, established in 2024 to champion the power of direct cash transfers for conservation.
Through research, policy work, project support and advocacy, the group shows that giving money straight to local communities is one of the most effective ways to protect forests and respect human dignity at the same time.

Martin Simonneau
Acting Head of Policy & AdvocacyAs Policy and Advocacy Lead, Martin’s goal is to talk about Cool Earth projects and all things rainforest, from its abundant biodiversity to its critical role in the fight against climate change. Above all, what drives his work is the incredible social and cultural diversity that can be found in the rainforest. The people who live there – who we too often forget – that have shaped and stewarded that ecosystem and kept it healthy.
Having been privileged enough to have seen the rainforests of Central and South America and its peoples, his background includes working with small producer associations, ethical chocolate businesses and grassroots environmental charities.
Martin’s interests span from climate justice; the diversity (and complexity) of human cultures; Indigenous rights and current affairs.
