Guide to Building a Team Website

An Adventurist page

Setting up FB and Twitter pages for your team is a no-brainer, but if you really want to hit the big time a website is the way to go.

Websites are easy to create these days, no longer do you have to be a coding Jedi to put together a spiffing looking site. There are loads of websites out there that do all the hard work for you. It’s just a case of choosing your theme, dropping in a team logo and away you go. Nor do they need to cost an arm and a leg, most you can build for free. Here are some of our favourites to get you started:

If you’re lacking a bit of inspiration then divert your peepers to these lovely looking sites all handcrafted by adventuring veterans of yester year.

Once you’ve chosen your design and argued over where your logo will sit, you can actually start to fill your pages with content. Adding a gallery is a great place to start, they look good and it’s a perfect way for people to follow your trip. Adding a charity section that links to your fundraising page is the next essential addition. Hopefully you’ll have plenty of traffic to your site and if you have a clear place for them to donate you’re bound to increase your donations.

Once your site is all finished make sure you keep it updated and send us the link so we can follow all your shenanigans. And who knows – if we deem your site particularly splendid it might even make its way into our website hall of fame.

Onwards, save the world, we salute you.
