Six years ago, Cool Earth began working with one rainforest village in Brazil. With your support we are now working alongside 65 villages throughout the world to halt rainforest destruction. Please join us to celebrate our sixth year of saving the rainforest.
Six Years of Saving the Rainforest
Since our launch in 2007, just over 350,000 acres of rainforest have been put under the protection of indigenous communities. This is a lot of forest by anyone’s estimations. The magic ingredient in Cool Earth’s approach means that these thousands of acres are carefully located so that they keep millions of neighbouring acres out of reach of loggers.
We would love to take the credit but it is all thanks to the efforts of communities in Peru, Brazil, the DR Congo and now Papua New Guinea. Village by village and acre by acre they have been spreading the word and recruiting more and more Cool Earth partners.
