Your birthday gifts mean our most remote village partner will get a school.
Last week Cool Earth turned eight. In those few years, we’ve supported 13 rainforest schools and helped hundreds of children across the world’s rainforests get an education. Thanks to your birthday wishes, the village of Parijaro can join the club.
Education transforms the future of a child, a family and a whole community. Unfortunately, schools in remote rainforest villages are not high on government to-do lists.
That’s why, no matter where our partners are in the world, one of their biggest concerns is the schooling of their children. This is especially true in Parijaro in Peru, the most remote village in our Asháninka Project.
‘Parijaro’ means ‘waterfall’ in Asháninka and the community looks across to Peru’s second highest cascade. To the east of the community lies the Asháninka Communal Reserve and Otishi National Park. This makes the community of Parijaro an integral part of the shield to shelter millions of acres of neighbouring forest.
Thanks to your generosity on our birthday, we can start work on a school for the village, giving Parijaro and their forest a brighter future.
Check back in a few months when we’ll have photos of the build.
