This September, a year on since we launched the partnership, the children of Gadaisu village are going back to school.
Last year, Gadaisu school was struggling. There wasn’t enough space and families were considering moving to the city so their children could get a decent education. This would have been disastrous for the rainforest. When families move away and the younger generation are lost, there’s no one left to defend the forest.
Thanks to you, Gadaisu doubled the size of the school. They invested in new equipment and books. So today, the children and techers couldn’t be more excited about the new term.
Investing in the future of rainforest communites like Gadaisu is just one way you’re helping protect the rainforest in Papua New Guinea.
