After a trial of three different kinds of stoves, we opted for a traditional mud stove. They are easy and cheap to construct from materials found nearby, and easy to use. So far 84 families have new stoves.
Sharing the idea
The communities in Lubutu are seeing such a great improvement thanks to the stoves that we’ll expand the programme next year to 225 more families. Cooking on open fires is a problem all over the world so we’ll take Samuel’s findings and share the knowledge with communities in Peru and PNG too.
