Tropical spiced ginger beer
This tastes amazing. Ingredients (for 1):
- 1/2 lime, cut into 6 chunks
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 fingers mango puree
- hot ginger beer
- ice
- lime wedge to serve
Mudde the lime with the cinnamon in a tall glass. Add puree and fill up the glass with ice. Add ginger beer and stir well to distribute everything. Add more ice and ginger beer to the top, and garnish with a wedge of lime.
Virgin Mojito
A refreshing classic, reborn. Ingredients (for 1):
- 1 lime, cut into 12 chunks
- 10 mint leaves
- 1 tsp sugar
- cloudy apple juice
- crushed ice
- mint sprig to serve
Muddle lime, mint and sugar in a rocks glass. Pack with crushed ice, top with apple juice and mix. Add more ice and mint sprig to serve.
Virgin Maria
A Peruvian twist on a breakfast staple. Ingredients (for 4 people):
- Juice of two limes
- 1 tbsp Pollada spice mix
- 500 ml tomato juice
- lots of ice
- Lime wedges to serve
Shake the lime juice with the pollada spice mix hard and pour into a jug. Top up with more ice, add tomato juice, and stir well. Add extra spice, salt and pepper to taste and garnish with lime wedges.
All of these recipes are also great with a slug of the iconic Peruvian spirit Pisco. Careful though, it’s dangerous stuff.
